Traditionally modern
- This is how everything began for us: in 1889 Paul Grimm founded our company in modest circumstances and with a sustainable business idea. At that time Marienthaler was located in Hirschberg, now Jelenia Góra in Poland.
- The Second World War hit the company hard and it was not until 1952 that rebuilding began at the new place of business in Schleiden-Gemünd on the edge of what is now the Eiffel National Park. This is where the company began printing coasters on letterpress machines.
- In 1969 the company first used offset printing methods and from 1974 to 1976 we continued to expand our range of machinery.
- In 1981 we started our own pre-press department, followed by further investments in the 90s.
- In 1999 Marienthaler launched into electronically controlled printing technology, which enabled us to cement our global reputation for delivering first-class printing quality.
- Since 1998 we have successfully expanded our export business, both in Europe and throughout the world.
- Since 2001 the Swedish coaster board manufacturer Svanskog Bruk AB has been a wholly owned subsidiary of the Marienthaler Group.
- In 2003 we further adapted our processes to suit the global market environment.
- In 2004 additional investment was made in the integrated pre-press department, which culminated in the acquisition of proofing equipment.
- In 2010 we modernised our pre-press facilities and extended them to include computer-to-plate (CTP) technology.
