Raw materials

Cardboard

The cardboard is the main raw material for our coasters. Our subsidiary company Svanskog Bruk AB located in Sweden is producing this raw material specialised for coasters.

We therefore always dispose of a high and constant cardboard quality. Only environmental friendly and renewable raw materials are used by us.

The wood pulp is consisting of trees based upon sustainable forestry. No trunks of a tree are used.

The cardboard character depends on the kind and quality of the cardboard ingredients and whether the wood fibre is bleached or not.

The following cardboards are available:

SVAN Top:

highly white cardboard, smooth surface on both sides, made with bleached pulp

SVAN Rust:

rustic cardboard, smooth surface on both sides, made with unbleached pulp

SVAN Natur:

nature cardboard, uneven surface on both sides, made without pulp

Our cardboard is worldwide renowned and are used by our long term customers in all continents of the world.

Colours

Our colours are consisting of organic pigments with addition of resins and vegetarian oils. Neither we use metallic additives nor toxic raw materials are contained in our colours used.

Printing colours do not have an influence to the biodegradability of finished print products.

Packaging material

We use polyethylene foil for packing our coasters. Polyethylene is an environmental friendly plastic being characterised by an excellent ecobalance. Furthermore it is suitable material for the recycling process.

Polyethylene is used for packing the roll, the pack as well as the pallets.
